Trying to use agilent_1_reservoir_290ml
on STAR. When I use the 8-channel for aspirate+dispense, I get an error saying that the material_z_thickness
is not defined for this plate type. If I dig through the repo, it looks like it is copying over the plate definition from the Opentrons API - could that be why it does not have a material thickness? I could create a custom plate with the same info and just add thickness myself, but curious if there is a better fix to update this labware?
yes please.
This error should only occur when using OT labware on a STAR, but not when using OT labware on an OT. That’s why we should keep the OT library.
Generally it’s better to have “custom” (plr-native) defs that have complete information and work everywhere
typically i am able to find the schematic / technical drawing online and use that. for z height, it’s not always defined so i recommend using Camillo’s z probing
