I don’t understand how hardware engineers and customers accept OEM software butchering their hardware’s potential

@mr.hyde tbh I wouldn’t be too harsh on the hardware and embedded systems engineers.
They are clearly doing great work.

From my experience, it’s the higher levels that put a bunch of sh*ty software over it.

But PLR is here to celebrate the hardware/firmware engineers’ work :fire:

Also… This is amazing, @rickwierenga !

A powerful showcase of how the open-source approach can completely change the way assays perform!

Just to understand more what is going on:
You are taking images (data==array of ints) or your are plate reading (data==single int)?

In both the OEM software and PLR, you are measuring 72 wells out of a 96 wellplate, with 4 different imaging channels.
If imaging, how many fields of views are you capturing per well?

Are your performing an autofocus search on every channel for every channel (for every FOV), or perform one autofocus at the first well and apply that z height to the entire plate?

yes, imaging. 1 field of view per well

autofocus for every (channel, well) tuple (this actually improves results)
