Separating two magnetic bead separators

Hi,

Two magnetic bead separators have coalesced into what appears to be an immovable object.

Does anyone have any recommendations for how to separate these two? Paradoxically, it appears I should muster some kind of unstoppable force, but I can’t figure out how…

Any help is appreciated.

That. Is. My. Nightmare.

My former boss told me how he placed one Alpaqua on top of another Alpaqua by accident.
Nothing separated them.
They had to use the two together as one and create a new definition for their “fusion magnet”

I’ve started to store mine always with an empty dummy plate after he told me about this.

Yours… Have attached top to top though…

More seriously speaking:

I guess you have nothing to lose here; here’s my “project Hail Mary” approach:

Find a clamp to fix one half of your fusion onto:

Buy at least 4 soldering irons, I’d start with 8.
Position them to touch the magnets but far enough away from the plastic components.

If heated enough, the magnetism should weaken :eyes:

You can then quickly move the soldering irons away (for safety), while using a crowbar to pry them apart (definitely don’t do this alone if you were to try this for real).
If more force is needed I’d probably go to a CNC shop and see what fixtures they have.

In general a CNC shop would most likely have an answer, if there is one.

If you’re really determined you could even lathe one of the two magnets into oblivion to free the other one.

Considering an estimated cost of 2k USD for one of them it might be worth it.

Could probably get some truck rachet straps around it. Secure one to immovable object, secure other to truck, go
